EG Group acquires Cooplands
EG Group is pleased to announce it has acquired CS Food Group Holdings Limited (“Cooplands”), a bakery business. Cooplands owns and operates high-quality bakery assets in the United Kingdom (UK), including three bakeries that process ingredients and manufacture fresh food distributed through its supply and logistics network to about 180 stores and cafes, predominantly across the north-east and Yorkshire regions.
EG Group (“EG” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement (“Purchase Agreement”) with Sprint Food Stores, Inc. (“Sprint”) in the USA.

EG Group (“The Group” and “EG”) is pleased to announce that it has increased hourly rates of pay for 10,500 employees in the UK in recognition of their hard work and commitment throughout the pandemic. Increased rates of pay will apply across all of EG’s petrol filling stations and foodservice brands in the UK, effective from 1st October 2021. Every colleague aged 18 and above will now be paid a minimum of £9.50 per hour. More experienced colleagues, such as team leaders and supervisors, will be paid a minimum of £10.00 per hour. These changes represent an average hourly wage increase of more than 5%.

The Competition and Markets Authority (“CMA”) has today formally confirmed acceptance of undertakings offered by Mohsin and Zuber Issa and TDR Capital LLP to divest 27 of EG Group Limited’s petrol filling stations to address the competition concerns relating to their separate acquisition of Asda Group Limited (“Asda”).
