EG GROUP RAISES MORE THAN £34,000
In January 2022, EG Group teamed up with The Fire Fighters Charity for the first charitable partnership of the year.
Every year, The Fire Fighters Charity provides support to thousands of fire and rescue service personnel and their families, and this partnership provided the two organisations the opportunity to work together in raising greater awareness of the vital work carried out.
Throughout the four-month partnership, EG Group made its UK sites fully available to The Fire Fighters Charity, providing access to local fire and rescue service crews to host activities, arrange collections, and host fundraising events.
The Cinnabon UK team launched their very first Valentine’s Day promotion to celebrate the day of love and raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity. The team held a special event at Head Office where they sold decorated boxes of ‘Cinnapacks’ and hosted a prize raffle and a photo booth. Colleagues also had the opportunity to meet and greet fire and service rescue personnel who were visiting on behalf of the Fire Fighters Charity. The event helped raise over £600 for the charity.
Ali Mangera, Learning & Development Advisor at EG Group took part in the “London Winter Walk” hosted by Ultra Challenge, alongside his wife and 14 year old daughter. They all successfully completed the 26 mile walk on the day and raised funds for The Fire Fighters Charity. With support from colleagues, family and friends, Ali beat his original target of £700 and raised a fantastic £1050.
A car wash fundraiser was held with our charity partner, The Fire Fighters Charity at our Head Office in Blackburn. Colleagues donated money to the charity in return for having their car washed by firefighters from the local fire and rescue service. The event helped raise nearly £400 which went towards supporting firefighters and their families.
During the Holy month of Ramadan, Head Office colleagues were invited to experience an Iftar meal, (breaking of the fast) which allowed them to interact with each other and gain a better understanding of the social and religious values of fasting. Thanks to generous donations, colleagues helped raise over £320 on the night.
